Choosing a Getting-Ready Space in Muizenberg for the Morning Light
Muizenberg's identity is built on light — the colourful beach chalets, the long stretch of sand, the surfers out at dawn — so it makes sense that couples marrying here often want that same brightness carried through into their getting-ready photographs. Whether a room delivers on that depends on a few things worth checking before the morning arrives.
Orientation is the first. Muizenberg's beachfront faces east across False Bay, meaning morning sun comes in fairly directly and can be strong even quite early, especially in summer. A getting-ready room with east-facing windows can flood with warm light not long after sunrise, which is beautiful but occasionally a little harsh and contrasty if the sky is completely clear — sheer curtains or simple repositioning near the window usually solves this without any special equipment.
